Abstract

In the Summer, 1974 issue of Nursing Papers, position statements were made by many of the University Schools of Nursing concerning the expanded role of the nurse. The article which follows describes how one group studied a particular approach to this question. Perhaps your institution has been developing other approaches to the expanding of the nurse's role. What have your experiences been? Your descriptions and evaluations of innovative approaches to nursing are a sort of "natural resource" which, when shared, enables us to fashion new ideas of nursing itself, identify research problems, etc. What do you think? What are you doing? Let us know, soon. _ Ed.
