Reponse a "le pouvoir aux infirmieres"
Abstract
Of the methods proposed by Mrs. Lazure to improve nursing education, I single out the teaching of creativity. To develop divergent thinking, it would be appropriate to have information on the nature of the process and the conditions that favour it. The relevant literature suggests that creativity is not wholly understood, but that it involves certain pre-existing conditions such as an extensive knowledge of a subject. It seems that an instructor with self-confidence can guide the student in his exploration of new alternatives. How can divergent and convergent thinking be reconciled? Creativity, and discipline? How can we encourage students to reflect upon their new ideas in an organized, critical way? Creativity may be promoted by asking the right questions, by brainstorming, by the study of complex cases. We need to find out more about how students learn creativity in the clinical field.Downloads
